flatster guide - Instructions

The flatster software, a 2.9 MB free client, may be downloaded here. Once downloaded, the program can be installed anywhere on your PC. The installation wizard will easily guide you through the installation process, and automatically create a link (shortcut icon) on your desktop.

With the initialization of the software, the sound card in your PC will be automatically configured in order to guarantee optimal playback and recording of your music with flatster.

This configuration is marked with a traffic light - following the configuration, you will automatically proceed to the sign-up screen.

When you first start the software, you are given the option of testing the service before subscribing, by trying out the flatster Top20 free songs that you can search, play, record and save as MP3s.

All you need to do is register here

If you already have a flatster account, log into the service with your e-mail address (not your user name!) and your personal password. The actual password is not shown. Now click on the 'Login' button, and you will be sent to the client that matches your account.

Starting the software with a Top20free account

When you first start the program with a Top20free account, please click on the orange button at the upper right in order to access the complimentary Top20 list. After you click, the Top20 track list will open in the main window.

All flatster users who already have an account with their e-mail address and a password can find their favorite titles by clicking on 'Top Charts', or using other functions depending on their accounts.

Choosing your music from the Top20

In the track lists, you can see the availability of the individual titles. Each title shows how often it is requested by users. By clicking the 'Play' button on the right, you add the titles you want to your flatster wishlist.

The flatster wishlist

All the tracks you are looking for appear in the flatster wishlist on the left side of the client. Depending on their availability, it may take a while until they have all been played. The order in which the titles appear in your wishlist does not affect the order in which they are played. Whatever is found first will be played first...

The flatster player

The flatster Player in the upper left part of the client shows the title that is currently being played. You can interrupt the playback (and recording) by clicking on the 'Stop' button.

The volume level meter allows you to adjust the volume.

The flatster Favorite Music Finder

In the middle of the flatster client's starting page, you see the Favorite Music Finder, which allows all customers to look for artists and/or titles. Of course, you can place all the tracks that you find into your wishlist.

This search is limited for Top20free accounts. You can still search, but the client will only find titles that are listed in the current Top20.
